On this New Year eve, very shocking bizarre news was airing, a young girl was molested by group of 'civilized ' youth of the country in Mumbai and at Nithari a Satan was butchering flesh of India's future. Incidents from past also gives bitter experience. One innocent girl is shot dead in a party in front of large gathering by her drunken friend. Thousands children are going missing. Child kidnapping is a profitable business, Parents are paying heavy amount to see the face’s of their own child again. Some of them are not that much lucky. Shocking but true we all are partners on the run.
Here are some references that can be an eye-opener for all of us. We have the biggest democracy in the world but Women’s Bill is still a hot cup for the politicians. Eve teasing ,Rape, Dowry cases are on the rise. Despite several announcements over child labor law, children are working in closed rooms of deadly factories. Sexual abuse, physical and mental harassments are part of their daily routine. Child rape and murder rate is alarming. Aren’t we making a mockery of bright human resource of the country? Land of Saints is turning to be land of devils. Is it present modern well educated and civilized Indian society?
Well, it gives me a harsh feeling to know that most of us still consider women and children as a soft target, but why don’t we understand a simple fact that by doing so, we are adding a new minority to the nation and I am afraid that we can’t add one more entity into this long list. We must understand the value of women and children in making India Shine. Time when women are successfully making their presence felt in almost each and every sector, these incidents are big jolt.
A Liberal, educated and healthy India should be our focus. We must accept women and children of India as a binding force for future India. Child Labor laws ought to be made harsh and should be implemented . Government, Media, National Human right commission are for sure, a strong driving force that can help in eradicating this curse. But the foremost action should be to generate awareness among people about this . We should change our thought process towards them. We should understand and accept the fact each and every Indian regardless of his/her gender, religion, and caste are equal. Women and children are not an exception here. In my opinion, Women and Children are not a mean of pleasure, they are the finest clan among human beings.

But then my dear friend, we have to understand that the growth that we are talking about in the recent days is completely lop sided. Our nation is living in multiple centuries at the same time. These extreme cases of Women harrasment and child abuse only convey about the era of the lesser civillized India. However one must accept that all these problems also exist in the so called developed nations, but certainly not to the degree we see here.
I believe that all this is attributed to the early leaving of the British rule from India. As Subhash Chandra Bose said "It is still not the right time for our nation to be free and democratic". These effects were a sure thing given the time we attained independence.
rahul..after ur first blog ,expectation was a little high.So i am a little disappointed.all u said in this current Post is something we hear very often...u wrote that child labour should be banned..i am also of this view..i believe almost all of us think lik this...but how many of us r ready to take the responsibilty of a single child's education or his 'parvarish'...we all earn morn than we require..but very few (too few) dares to take this responsibilty..WHY????...this is where the fault lies in us..we can easily blame the Government..but never think of wht we can do..we pay tax..so our all responsibilty ends there!!!! u talk that females' r "soft target"...but knowing this also ,we throw comments at them...it's right that we dont rape them or assult them physically...but this does not show that we are modest beast..rather we are afraid of the repurcussions..what happens if i will get caught...if there were no laws protecting these "soft target"...our verbal abuse will turn to molestation in no time....So instead of looking at aimlessly at these gruesome violation of human modesty and dignity...we should try to make us more caring and make us and others more daring to stand against this crimes...
Dear Abhishek, I Appreciate the your valuable inputs, but I guess you have inferred something that I never wanted to share. First you are disagreeing with my thoughts and then giving us all ideas that support my notion. Yeah ‘current Post is something we hear very often’. So what? What’s wrong in this? The suggestions you are giving sounds nice but tell me one thing how many are really implemental. You are suggesting women and children to face the crime with courage, Its right , but ask a 5 year old kid whose hands are tied, and someone is about to butcher his head, how can he save himself. How can he show courage and dare? I am not blaming government, babus n all (you have misinterpreted me here.) All I want to tell you is that we, the people of India should change our thinking and actions towards women and children. And one thing more Abhishek, It would have been really nice from your side if you have answered the questions raised in the Blog instead of asking few more. your valuable suggestions are always invited.

The blog is o.k....I dnt remember which book i read ..but it had a very apt line "India lives simultaneouly in multiple centuries" and i would just extend this idea by saying that even in places which ostensibly are in the 21st century(like hyd) and ppl like u and me who r really 21st century ppl show traits of living in 20th century...a classic example is females in Hyd working for MS,Ora,Wipro etc refusing to share the seat with an auto driver and always wanting the back seats only.....i may be deviating from what u r writing but i want to drive home the pt. that the females should also realze that women equality should not be an issue just when it suits them....as for the instances of child rapes etc are concerned I can just say that it is saddening and the perverts must be hanged to death.
